About Mending Monkeys
At Mending Monkeys, we believe in all children. Our products are for everyone, however our sourcing is focused on those with trauma and other mental health challenges as we understand the stigma and the barriers that exist for these children and their caregivers.
Our Story:
Covid 2020 created one of the worst mental health crises in our lifetimes. It could be argued that those most affected were the most vulnerable, the elderly and our children.
It was during this time that our family discovered that our beautiful daughter had been severely abused by someone close to us. An emotional and painful journey ensued, where we were confronted not only with the details of the abuse that she suffered, but also the resulting mental health diagnoses and navigating the myriad of challenges that accompany them. This has affected our family in ways that we could never have imagined.
Through our journey, we came to a stark realization that our children are extremely underserved in our society, especially those suffering from mental health conditions. It is almost as if they did not exist at all.
It has become our mission to shine some light on these beautiful souls, and assist with their journey in any way that we can while navigating our own challenges at home.
